Update!

For those participating in the Children’s Hospital/Memorial North parade on Thursday, May 7th! There are 17 of us (thanks everyone!), we will meet at the Kum & Go, 9665 Prominent Point at 9:30am so we can head over as group so we can stay together. I have permission for us to park, single file, on the street just outside of the staging area, the gravel in the entrance to the lot would be a challenge for the bikes and speed. KSU 9:45am, it’s a short ride over to the staging area, parade starts around 10:15am. If you want to arrive at the staging area on your own see the map below. If anyone has any questions please let me know

Here is your opportunity to put a smile on a young person’s face and show support for the caregivers at Childrens Hospital Colorado Springs and Memorial North! Pikes Peak HOG #405 has been invited to participate in a short parade on Thursday, May 7th at around 10am. We will be joining members from Colorado Springs FD, PD, EMR, Professional Sports Team Mascots and some hot cars to ride down the street in front of Childrens Hospital and Memorial North for the patients currently in the hospital. The parade route will be short, maybe 15 minutes, but the smiles will go on forever!

Thank you for your interest in participating in our vehicle parade next Thursday 5/7 at 10am.

Couple of details below:

  • Vehicles will need to meet by 10am at the latest at the staging area (gravel lot indicated with a purple X on the attached map).
  • The parade will leave from there, and follow the yellow line, past the front of CHCO, then in front of Memorial North and out to Briargate Parkway (via Austin Bluffs Parkway, per the yellow area)
  • Posters/signs/streamers/balloons etc that can be displayed on the vehicles are welcome. Please no sirens but lights flashing are welcome
  • Appropriate sign messages could include: Thank you to the Healthcare Heroes, Thinking of You for the patients
  • Spectators will be viewing from inside both hospitals
  • We will have several volunteers directing traffic for patients trying to get into the complex for appointments.

Please email me at director@pphog.com if you plan to participate, I have to turn in a rough estimate of how many vehicles your specific group will be bringing? While we want to have a strong/large and festive turnout, we also want to make sure we are not overruning the campus with too many vehicles that would make it disruptive for patients coming on site for care.
