March-HOG-Officer-Connection

A word from H.O.G. National

Chapter Leaders; Since late January, Harley-Davidson has had a dedicated team monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation daily. We’re taking actions aligned with public authority guidance and adjusting processes and protocols to help keep our employees, dealers, riders and the community safe.

As leaders within your Chapter, along with your dealer, you can determine what is right for your members. Here’s what we’ve done thus far to support employee health and business continuity:

  • Made and are continuing to make business travel process updates to align with public authority guidance
  • Enhanced guest processes at all Harley-Davidson facilities Increased focus on site hygiene and sanitation practices
  • Communicated personal hygiene practices recommended by public health authorities

Because our top priority is to help safeguard the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers, we may make temporary adjustments in how we connect. In some cases, face-to-face meetings may be shifted to video or phone conferencing for the time being.

Also, as you consider Chapter event plans, here’s how we are evaluating potential impacts to events:

  • We’re looking at country-level government guidance.
  • We’re monitoring local restrictions.
  • We’re watching what adjustments other large event-holders in the area are making.

Based on the rapidly evolving nature of the coronavirus situation, consider checking guidance daily prior to any planned events. Where there are public interactions as per the government guidance, avoid direct contact. Greetings should move to a wave or an elbow bump.

As the situation progresses, we’ll share additional information about actions we’re taking and point you toward sources of information to help you make decisions for your Chapter.

In the meantime, we encourage you to stay close to information and recommendations shared by your local authorities, and see the public health information and prevention recommendations from the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Johns Hopkins case tracking.
