The PPHOG ride on May 19 ended at Bino’s Pizza in Kiowa…but Paul wasn’t there to enjoy the pizza! The day before was a Road Captain Ride for Seraphina Twining to earn her orange braid. Seraphina has been riding a little over 3 years and currently rides a 2016 Dyna Switchback, although she has her eye on a Street Glide for the future. She makes every lady rider proud to be riding and just try to keep up with her!! She rides with the best of them!!
The ride started at Pikes Peak Harley Davidson and headed east on Dublin all the way to Marksheffel Rd. A left turn takes you to Woodmen Rd. Continue east to make a left/north turn onto Meridian Rd. Many were familiar with Meridian Road, but lots of conversations that people were unaware that it went all the way north to Hodgen Rd. That is a great long way home, for some reason most motorcycles don’t ride in straight direct lines very often! The ride took Meridian Road north until Murphy Rd, heading right/east. Murphy Road continues to Elbert Rd taking a left/north turn. Elbert Rd is a nice winding road of gentle curves with beautiful views of pastures that are so green!! Elbert Rd dead ends at Highway 86 and turning right/east takes you directly into the town of Kiowa. Bino’s Pizza is on the south side of the road. They have a very large parking lot that is in good repair, a novel concept!!
Bino’s Pizza specializes in pizza, wings, hoagies, pasta and many items on their kids menu. The service was very good although all these scary bikers made the young waitress quite nervous. It was cute.
The Road Captain meeting on May 21 held the official vote, which was unanimous, for Seraphina to be given her orange braid. She is one of the few female Road Captains for PPHOG. Congratulations Seraphina!! Job well done!!
